Cat Tattoos Pictures

If an old Celtic symbolic animal, the cat represents the guardian of the Otherworld (or Underworld, depending on what you read texts from different regions). Stoic, silent and mysterious, cats fit the bill of the Otherworld guardians quite well. They keep the secrets of the Other World forever for themselves, as they look to list on a world that does not see or understand the depth of their knowledge. However, there were black cats in the Celtic tradition regarded as evil, and were sacrificed.
The black cat, in particular, became the symbol of witchcraft and evil - and eventually the animal of choice for Halloween decorations. From Norse mythology, we get the superstition that a black cat cross your path is a symbol of bad luck (in fact the original version was that it was Satan really a crush on you).
Of course, as with many of these symbols, but that does not mean the same for all people. A black cat is considered a good omen in places like England and Japan.
